Description

The Anchovy Metal TYPE-II is Jackall's high-appeal offshore metal jig, designed around its fall action for tachiuo (cutlassfish) jigging and other slow-jigging styles. An asymmetric body — flat on one face, ridged into a triangular section on the other — produces a trickily unstable horizontal fall and heavy flashing, best worked with big rod lifts and repeated lift-and-fall sequences when fish are holding at a known depth. Compared with the TYPE-I, its one-pitch short jerk action is set noticeably wider, giving anglers a clearly different jig to rotate in when the bite calls for more flash and movement.

Each jig carries a large weight-marker sticker on the eye so sizes are easy to tell apart when swapping jigs. This 80g comes in 12 colourways for varying light and water clarity conditions.

Information

The swimming action

An asymmetric body, flat on one face and ridged into a triangular section on the other, creates a trickily unstable horizontal fall with heavy flashing, a noticeably wider action than the TYPE-I.

When to throw it

For tachiuo (cutlassfish) jigging and tenya-style fishing when fish want more flash and movement than a straight-falling jig offers, or when rotating jigs to change the presentation on a known depth.

How to work it

Work it with big rod lifts and repeated lift-and-fall sequences over a known holding depth, letting the slow, deliberate fall and flash trigger the bite, pausing on the drop where marked fish are holding tight to structure.

The setup it likes

Suits a boat jigging rod matched to the jig weight, a compact spinning or overhead reel loaded with PE1.5-3 braid, and a fluorocarbon leader of roughly 20-40 lb depending on jig weight and target size.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.
