Description

The Jackall Amiami 2.3 is a 2.3-inch soft plastic worm from Jackall's Amiami range, designed to imitate small crustaceans such as amphipods for aji (Japanese horse mackerel). Its ribbed body generates a clear, defined wave-action kick, while a scent-and-flavour infused body material encourages fish to hold on longer, improving hook-up rates.

It comes as part of a three-size Amiami line-up (alongside the 1.5-inch and Micro 1-inch Under), letting anglers match the bait size to feeding activity and prey size. Rig it on a light jighead for aji-focused light rock fishing.

Information

The swimming action

Deep ribs across the body create a clear wave-action kick and comfortable retrieve resistance despite the compact size. Scent and flavour worked into the material itself helps aji and mebaru hold on longer, giving more time to set the hook.

When to throw it

For situations where aji and mebaru are feeding selectively on tiny prey such as amphipods and mysid shrimp: light rock game marks around harbours, breakwaters and reef edges, especially when fish are fussy on standard-size baits.

How to work it

Rig on a light jighead sized to the conditions and work with a slow, steady retrieve or a gentle lift-and-fall, letting the rib action do the work at low speed.

The setup it likes

Suits a light rock-game spinning rod, a 1000-2500 reel, 2-4 lb fluorocarbon or PE0.3-0.6 main line, and a short fluorocarbon leader of similar strength, matched to a jighead light enough to keep the bait's action lively.
