The Debuneko 200 rides with a stable S-motion and wobble on a steady retrieve, throwing a bubble smoke-screen wake behind the wooden body that Hishimo builds to draw fish up from below.

When to throw it

Built for GT and pelagic species around reefs, drop-offs and open water, the weight balance is tuned to punch into the wind and land accurately inside a surface boil (nabura) when fish are already up and feeding.

How to work it

Work it on a steady straight retrieve to hold the S-motion and wake, casting into the wind or directly at a boiling school rather than working it slowly along structure. A rod with backbone helps control the wooden body on long casts.

The setup it likes

Pair it with a heavy popping or stickbait rod rated for PE6 to PE8, a large lever-drag or spinning reel, 60 to 80lb braid and a 100 to 150lb fluorocarbon leader for GT and pelagic work.
