Description

The Front Lake Awabi 6.8g is Forest's abalone-finish take on its established Front Lake lake-fishing spoon, adding an awabi (abalone shell) flash to a selection of the range's most proven lake colours for extra visual pull in stained or deeper water.

It carries the same pilot-spoon role as the standard Front Lake for working lakes for trout, now spread across two weights alongside 4g and 12g so anglers can match the sinking rate and pitch to the venue.

Information

The swimming action

A pilot-spoon action for reading a lake quickly: a steady wobble tuned to small baitfish profiles, with a quicker pitch than the range's heavier 6.8g and 12g Front Lake weights.

When to throw it

Suited to small lakes and light-tackle sessions when trout are feeding cautiously on small bait; the Awabi abalone finish adds extra flash for stained or deeper water where visibility is reduced.

How to work it

A straight, even retrieve is the starting point for covering water; twitch-style rod work also draws strikes when a slower, more finessed presentation is what the fish want on the day.

The setup it likes

Pairs with a light area-trout rod (UL-L power, fast taper), a 1000-2500 size spinning reel and 2-3 lb fluorocarbon or nylon main line, fished without a separate leader as is standard for area-lake spoons of this size.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.
