Information

The swimming action

A compact 4-segment scale-down of the original 5-segment Royal Flash, the Jr. uses a dedicated body design rather than a simple shrink, producing a strong yet natural swimming action on the retrieve.

When to throw it

Built to work without specialist big-bait tackle, it suits topwater retrieves across big lakes, rivers, reservoirs and ponds for anglers who want big-bait presence in a more manageable package.

How to work it

A steady straight retrieve is the core presentation, letting the jointed segments produce their natural swimming action without needing exaggerated rod work. Occasional pauses let the jointed segments settle and flash before the next pull, adding a subtle trigger to the swim.

The setup it likes

A medium-heavy to heavy casting rod around 7-7.25ft with a 6.3:1-7:1 baitcasting reel and 16-20lb fluorocarbon suits this 130mm, 33g swimbait without needing dedicated glide-bait gear, matched to the bait's casting weight so the rod loads properly on the cast.
