The Evergreen Jointed Claw 178F is Evergreen's special-edition run of the lipless jointed swimbait, dressed in four colourways devised by Toshifumi Kikumoto. It measures 17.8cm and sits in the 2oz weight class as a floating bait, rigged with a #2 line-tie ring, a #4 front hook eye and a #4 rear hook eye, running a #1 front hook and a #2 rear hook.

Without a lip to bite into the water, the jointed body instead swims a distinctive S-shaped track on a straight retrieve, a wide side-to-side pattern that stands out to bass from well outside the strike zone. Evergreen credits the design's action with provoking repeat strikes even from bass that have already missed it once.
