Description

The Evergreen Jointed Claw 178F is Evergreen's special-edition run of the lipless jointed swimbait, dressed in four colourways devised by Toshifumi Kikumoto. It measures 17.8cm and sits in the 2oz weight class as a floating bait, rigged with a #2 line-tie ring, a #4 front hook eye and a #4 rear hook eye, running a #1 front hook and a #2 rear hook.

Without a lip to bite into the water, the jointed body instead swims a distinctive S-shaped track on a straight retrieve, a wide side-to-side pattern that stands out to bass from well outside the strike zone. Evergreen credits the design's action with provoking repeat strikes even from bass that have already missed it once.

Information

The swimming action

Without a lip to bite into the water, the jointed body swims a distinctive S-shaped track on a straight retrieve, a wide side-to-side pattern that stands out to bass from well outside the strike zone.

When to throw it

A special-edition run of Evergreen's lipless jointed swimbait dressed in colourways devised by Toshifumi Kikumoto, it suits big-bass hunting on lakes and reservoirs where a large, wide-swimming profile draws fish from a distance.

How to work it

A straight, steady retrieve is the core presentation; Evergreen credits the design's action with provoking repeat strikes even from bass that have already missed it once, so working through the same zone again can pay off.

The setup it likes

A heavy glide-bait-capable casting rod around 7.25-7.5ft with a low-ratio 100-size baitcasting reel, 16-20lb fluorocarbon or 40-50lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader, suits this 178mm, 2oz-class swimbait, matched to the bait's casting weight so the rod loads properly on the cast.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?
