Description

The Evergreen D-Zone Fly is a compact 1/4oz spinnerbait from Morizo Shimizu, creator of the original D-ZONE, with its overall volume scaled down and rebalanced so it still casts a long way despite the small size. This listing is the tandem willow leaf blade configuration.

Its small profile is designed to build confidence for anglers who find spinnerbaits intimidating, while still carrying the same D-ZONE vibration and balance on both a gurgling surface retrieve and a slow roll, making it a practical searching bait on small lakes and ponds with small baitfish.

Information

The swimming action

Scaled down from the original D-ZONE, the Fly keeps the same balance and vibration in a compact 1/4oz body that still casts a long way. This tandem willow leaf version pairs two blades for extra flash and thump while keeping the same small, castable profile.

When to throw it

Its small profile suits small lakes and ponds with small baitfish, and it is a good choice for anglers new to spinnerbaits who want a bait that is easy to control and unintimidating to throw.

How to work it

Work it as a searching bait on a steady retrieve just under the surface for a gurgling top action, or slow it down to fish deeper on the roll. Light tackle keeps the twin blades working through the retrieve.

The setup it likes

A light to medium 5'9"-6'6" spinning or baitcasting rod suits this 1/4oz size, matched with a 2500-size spinning reel or compact baitcaster and 6-12lb fluorocarbon or 8-14lb nylon line.
