Information

The swimming action

A compact body built with internal gimmicks produces a sharp, surprising dart when worked, standing in contrast to the slow, natural fall most mebaru baits rely on. That sudden movement is designed to trigger a reaction strike rather than a considered take.

When to throw it

Built specifically for mebaru (rockfish) and effective both day and night, useful when a standard slow presentation isn't drawing a response and a sharper, reaction-style movement is needed instead. It is worth carrying a small spread of jighead weights and colours to cover the different current strengths and light levels you meet across a session.

How to work it

Rig on a light jighead and work it with sharp twitches to trigger the dart action, following each twitch with a pause so the bait can settle before the next movement. Keep the rod tip low and watch the line closely, since bites from light-game species often show up as nothing more than a faint tap or a slight change in tension.

The setup it likes

A dedicated mebaru rod around UL power, a 1000-2000 reel, 2-3 lb (PE 0.2-0.3) main line and a 2-3 lb fluorocarbon leader suit the light jigheads this compact bait is rigged on. A soft, forgiving rod tip helps cushion light hooks and fine leaders so fish stay pinned all the way back to the net or rock ledge.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?

Yes. Every item is genuine, sourced only through authorised distributors — never grey imports or marketplace resellers.
