Information

The swimming action

A bulky body fusing hog and grub shapes keeps balance under a heavy Texas rig and resists rolling up during the retrieve, while a thick tail produces strong wave vibrations despite the compact size and stays stable in flight for better casting distance.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for kijihata (grouper) fished from the bank around rock, reef and drop-offs, where a bulky, bottom-hugging bait is needed to stay in the strike zone near cover. It is worth carrying a small spread of jighead weights and colours to cover the different current strengths and light levels you meet across a session.

How to work it

Fish on a heavy Texas rig with long drags and pauses along the bottom, letting the tail work while the body stays low; bites typically come as the bait is dragged past structure rather than lifted through open water. Keep the rod tip low and watch the line closely, since bites from light-game species often show up as nothing more than a faint tap or a slight change in tension.

The setup it likes

A heavy-power rockfish or grouper rod, a 3000-4000 reel, 12-20 lb main line and a 20-30 lb fluorocarbon leader give the strength needed to pull grouper away from structure. A soft, forgiving rod tip helps cushion light hooks and fine leaders so fish stay pinned all the way back to the net or rock ledge.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?
