Eclipse Heavy Slight 95

The Heavy Slight 95 carries Eclipse's fine-vibration character over into a heavier body, keeping dart action on the jerk and a flat-sided flash on the shake rather than the big, obvious thump typical of most heavyweight vibration lures. Pressured fish still see roughly the same style of fine action they'd meet from the lighter Slight Edge models, just carried on a bigger, longer-casting frame.

Its extra weight and casting distance open up deep-water fishing that a lighter vibe can't reach — breaks previously out of range, fast-flowing rivers, and boat fishing — while still working on the same wary, pressured fish the Slight Edge line was built for.

A straight, steady retrieve lets the fine vibration do the work at depth; add occasional rod-tip jerks to introduce dart action when fish are following without committing, then return to the steady retrieve. In faster water, slow the retrieve just enough to keep the vibration crisp rather than blurred, and expect strikes to come as a solid, deliberate take given the depth and current it's typically fished in.

A medium-heavy seabass spinning rod, a 3000-4000 reel, PE1-1.2 braid and a 16-20 lb fluorocarbon leader suit the 95mm, 28g casting weight and deeper-water use. A rod with a firmer backbone than a standard seabass stick makes casting this weight comfortable all day and gives enough lifting power to work it back from a deep break or fast current.
