Description

The CERTATE SW (CERTATE SW) is Daiwa's large-size saltwater spinning reel for big gamefish — yellowtail, amberjack, giant trevally, tuna, and marlin — fished via jigging and casting.

It's built around the next-generation Powerdrive Design, with oversized gears and roller oscillation for winding power, a monocoque aluminium body, a ZAION Power Drive rotor for rigidity at low weight, Magsealed protection against water intrusion, a Crank Power Bail, an LC-ABS SW spool guide for casting distance, and the ATD Tough drag system. Available across the 8000–20000 size range.

Information

The drivetrain

The next-generation Powerdrive Design uses oversized gears and roller oscillation for real winding power, with a monocoque aluminium body and a ZAION Power Drive rotor keeping the reel rigid without excess weight.

What it's built for

For big-game jigging and casting at yellowtail, amberjack, giant trevally, tuna and marlin, across a size range that covers nearshore to serious offshore work.

How it fishes

The Crank Power Bail and LC-ABS SW spool guide support long casts with poppers and stickbaits, while the ATD Tough drag and Magsealed protection hold up through extended fights and repeated saltwater exposure.

Spools and spares

Pair with a heavy popping or jigging rod, PE4-8 main line and a heavy fluorocarbon leader sized to the target species.
