Description

The 6th-generation LUVIAS, arriving 20 years after the original, pairs a ZAION body with a ZAION rotor to achieve lightness and rigidity at a high level, while AIRDRIVE DESIGN sharpens operability for lure control that follows the angler's intent exactly. A 5000-size model has been added so more anglers can use LUVIAS across a wider range of fishing styles, with drag, main-shaft material and drive-gear surface treatment engineered to suit each application.

PC (Power Custom) is a one-size-larger body for extra power: PC LT2500 suits bass PE fishing, eging, boat eging and tenyara madai, while PC LT3000-XH (205g, 93cm per handle turn, 6.2 gear ratio) is built for seabass, tairaba, small light jigging and large trout.

Official Daiwa product: 24 Rubias PC.

Information

The drivetrain

PC bodies carry the same ZAION and AIRDRIVE construction as standard LUVIAS but in a one-size-larger housing, giving noticeably more torque and stiffness under load while still feeling light. The PC LT3000-XH turns 93cm of line per handle turn at a 6.2:1 ratio.

What it's built for

Built for styles that push a light reel harder than average: bass fishing on PE line, boat and shore eging, tenya madai, seabass, tairaba, small light jigging and larger trout.

How it fishes

Handles PE line and slightly heavier jigheads, egi and tenya rigs better than a standard LT body of the same size, with the higher-geared XH option suited to fast pickup on tairaba drops and jerk-style retrieves.

Spools and spares

Pair PC LT2500 with a bass or eging rod on 0.8-1.2 PE and 8-12lb leader; pair PC LT3000-XH with a tairaba or seabass rod on 1-1.5 PE and 10-16lb leader.
