Description

The Snecon 150S is a 150 mm, 51 g pencil-style seabass plug from Blue Blue, built around an unfixed internal weight-ball system that produces a never-seen-before, ultra-wide S-shaped swimming trajectory on a straight retrieve. The width of the S-curve widens with current speed and casting distance, and the rattling weight balls add strong acoustic attraction; a through-wire construction runs the length of the body to secure two #1/0 hooks.

Its rearward weight shift on the cast gives excellent distance from both shore and boat, and Blue Blue recommend a medium-heavy rod with a longer leader. Aimed primarily at seabass, the lure's large-hook, two-hook through-wire rig also lets it stand up to bigger species such as bluefish and GT. Available here in 9 official colourways.

Information

The swimming action

Snecon is a pencil-style seabass plug built around an unfixed internal weight-ball system that produces a wide, unpredictable S-shaped swimming trajectory on a straight retrieve. The width of the S-curve widens with current speed and casting distance, and the rattling weight balls add strong acoustic attraction to the action.

When to throw it

Aimed primarily at seabass, Snecon suits open beaches, river mouths and breakwaters where distance and a searching, erratic swim path help draw fish from a wider area. The wider or faster the flow, the more pronounced and reliable the S-curve action becomes on the retrieve.

How to work it

Work it with a simple straight retrieve at a steady pace and let the internal weight balls do the work of creating the S-curve; there is no need for added rod twitches. Casting into current or working it across a fast-moving tide brings out the widest swimming path.

The setup it likes

Blue Blue recommend a medium-heavy rod with a longer leader for the 150S: pair it with a 4000-5000 size reel, PE2-3 braid and a 30-40 lb fluorocarbon leader, which also gives some margin against bigger bycatch such as bluefish or GT.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?
