Information

The swimming action

The Fallten Medium at 120g keeps a compact, tail-heavy body but leaves the nose slim rather than flattened, so it still catches water on the drop and adds a side-to-side head shimmy on top of the jig's tail-heavy roll. Each jig is hand-painted, so slight finish variation between pieces is normal.

When to throw it

Built for light offshore and shore jigging where a fast fall is needed to keep contact with bottom or structure in moving current, while still casting well enough to cover open water for seabass.

How to work it

Fish it on a straight retrieve or with light, short jerks, using the fast fall to trigger reaction bites and to work a spot thoroughly from bottom to top.

The setup it likes

Suits an M–MH 8–9ft jigging rod with a 3000–4000 reel, PE1.0–1.5 braid and a 20–30lb fluorocarbon leader, sized up toward the heavier end of the range.
