SaltyStyle Egi（ソルティースタイルエギ）is Abu Garcia Japan's high-value squid rod line from Pure Fishing Japan, built for shore anglers targeting egi (squid jig) fishing. The blank is 98% carbon / 2% glass, with a Fuji SiC ring on the top guide and Alconite on the remaining guides (Fuji KR guide concept), a Fuji reel seat (IPS), and X-carbon tape wrapped at 45° and 135° for added torque and twist resistance; the design is inspired by a squid's eye.

The blank

The 98% carbon blank with a Fuji SiC top guide and X-carbon tape wrapping stays sensitive enough to feel an egi settle on the bottom, while retaining the torque to snap a sharp jerk into the jig and drive the hooks home on the take.

What it's built for

Built for shore-based egi fishing targeting aori squid and hiika (jindou-ika), with four lengths and powers in the line-up to cover everything from finesse hiika work through to bigger autumn and spring aori squid.
