Worked with rod-tip sweeps it spits and chugs like a classic popper, but a sharper snap turns it into a walk-the-dog stickbait, and a slower rhythm gets it darting side to side. A weighted tail keeps it stable on longer casts and a loud internal rattle adds an audible strike trigger.

When to throw it

Best fished on calm to lightly rippled water over weed edges, timber and dock shadows where bass are looking up. Dawn, dusk and overcast light get the most reaction, and it also draws surface strikes from other predatory species sharing the same water.

How to work it

Pop-pause on a slack line for a classic chugging retrieve, or shorten the pauses and snap the rod tip for a tighter walk-the-dog action. The teaser tail hook picks up short-strikers that miss the main hook, so keep retrieves varied until a pattern shows.
