Description
The Smith Bottom Knock Swimmer II is a trout swimbait developed by Hiroyuki Motoyama, built around a nose-weighted tungsten sinker that keeps the lure standing tail-up as it settles on the bottom. It measures approximately 30 mm and weighs 3.2 g, running on a single D-Contact Hook #12.
Designed for trout that have stopped responding to a standard horizontal retrieve, it holds a stable tail-up posture between bottom taps, vibrates on a straight retrieve, and kicks into an exaggerated side-to-side swing on the twitch, a bottom-bouncing action built to draw strikes from otherwise neutral fish.
