Bassday Mononofu 50S

Bassday Mononofu 50S (もののふ 50S) is a native-trout sinking minnow from Bassday's Mononofu series, built for mountain-stream, upper-reaches, and mid-stream native-trout fishing.

The Mononofu series was designed around what Bassday calls "sculptural beauty" — a hand-crafted-feeling lure worthy of being remembered alongside a beautiful native trout, built with the honesty and courage suggested by its name, "mononofu" (warrior).

50mm is the standard size for this style of stream lure and the first item to cast. Although it is a heavy-sinking design, its 4.6g weight stays easy to cast with any rod. It falls close to horizontal, showing itself off right after the cast and starting to swim very quickly, drawing fish in immediately after a pinpoint cast. A slightly larger lip helps it start swimming easily, keeps movement short on light twitches, and lets it fall slowly rather than diving immediately when paused, while the action stays natural and easy to use on downstream presentations.
