Sauribu's esca (イスカ) is a micro area-trout minnow, built for a subtle, natural glide rather than a wide wobble. This SS (slow-sinking) version sinks very slowly at rest, giving a near-neutral presentation that hangs in front of a fish for longer.

When to throw it

Suited to pressured area-trout ponds where fish are used to standard spoons and cranks, and a slow, natural-looking micro minnow draws more follows and bites.

How to work it

Fish it on a slow, steady retrieve or with gentle twitches, letting the near-neutral buoyancy hold it in the strike zone rather than working it aggressively.

The setup it likes

Suits a UL area-trout rod, a 1000–2000 spinning reel, 2–3 lb fluorocarbon main line and a short fluorocarbon leader.
