Description

TAC JIG (タクジグ) is a rubber jig designed by B.A.S.S. Elite Series angler Takumi Ito for covering water quickly, skipping under cover and pitching into heavy vegetation. The streamlined head shape sheds cover cleanly to cut down on snags.

It carries a brush guard angled for protection without added stiffness, a RYUGI hook with TC coating for strong hook penetration, and a skirt volume balanced against the head for a controlled fall speed and swimming action. Colours are split between craw/crawdad and baitfish patterns.

Available in 3/16oz, 1/4oz and 3/8oz (2/0 or 3/0 hook) and 1/2oz (3/0 hook only); this listing is the 1/4oz with 2/0 hook.

Designed by B.A.S.S. Elite Series angler Takumi Ito, the TAC JIG's streamlined head sheds cover cleanly to cut down on snags, with skirt volume balanced against the head weight for a controlled fall speed and swimming action on the retrieve.

When to throw it

Built for covering water quickly, skipping under docks and overhangs, and pitching into heavy vegetation, with colours split between craw/crawdad patterns for bottom presentations and baitfish patterns for swimming it through cover.

How to work it

Pitch or skip it into cover and let it fall on a controlled line, watching for a tick or jump as it settles; swim it slowly back through submerged grass or timber using the balanced skirt-to-head action.

A 7'0"-7'3" medium-heavy to heavy flipping rod suits the short, accurate casts this jig is built for, paired with a 7:1 baitcaster and 15-20lb fluorocarbon or 40-50lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader.
