The swimming action

A slim, tapered soft-plastic body that kicks with a natural tail flutter on the drop and a subtle wag on the lift, built to imitate the small baitfish and shrimp aji feed on over deep water.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for boat-based bachikon (バチコン) light-tackle jigging for Japanese horse mackerel, worked over structure or bait schools marked on the sounder.

How to work it

Rig on a light jighead and work it with a slow lift-and-drop or a gentle jiggle near bottom or through the bait layer, paying attention to takes on the drop.

The setup it likes

A 6-7ft L bachikon-specific rod, a small baitcast or spinning reel with PE 0.4-0.6 line and a 2-4lb fluorocarbon leader suits this style of light boat jigging.
