Built specifically for vertical boat ajing in deep offshore water, where a spinning reel's line control suits anglers who prefer that platform over a baitcaster for this technique. This matters most in deep water where line angle and feel count for more than casting ability.

How it fishes

Fished by holding a heavy sinker rig near-vertical below the boat and reading line and tip movement for bites, setting the hook promptly once contact is felt. Aji bites at depth are often extremely subtle rather than a hard pull.

The setup it likes

Pair with a 1000-2000 spinning reel, PE 0.3-1 go line and a light fluorocarbon leader. Match it to a light sinker rig for this vertical technique. Keep drag settings light so a running aji doesn't pull the light rig free.
