Information

The swimming action

Each D-Zone size runs its own tuned hammered blade set rather than a simple scaled copy, with a light-wire arm that transmits blade vibration to the head and beads that lock the blades to stop unwanted sliding; a low-centre-of-gravity head vents water through gill-shaped grooves to hold a stable running depth. This Double Willow version uses a narrower, faster-spinning blade up front and a wider blade behind, cutting the vibration loss double-willow spinnerbaits can suffer from blade interference.

When to throw it

A tournament-spec bass spinnerbait suited to covering water around cover, points and grass edges; the Double Willow's crisper, tighter thump suits clear-to-stained water.

How to work it

Cast past the target and wind at a steady pace, slow-rolling it along the bottom through cover or holding it just under the surface over grass; vary retrieve speed and add occasional pauses to trigger reaction strikes.

The setup it likes

A medium-light to medium-heavy 6'6"-7'0" baitcasting rod with 8-16lb fluorocarbon or 10-20lb nylon line, as Evergreen recommend for the 1/2oz size.
