SPELLBOUND CORE (スペルバウンドコア) is Engine's bass rod series; this listing is the High class line. Blanks are carbon fibre (SCHC-60UL-FS uses a full solid-carbon build), fitted with FUJI titanium-frame SIC-S guides, and every spinning model includes a hook keeper.

Carbon-fibre blanks fitted with FUJI titanium-frame SIC-S guides run across nine dedicated models, from an extreme-finesse XUL spinning rod through to a full solid-carbon bait-finesse caster and a heavy-cover H-power baitcaster, each tuned to its own technique rather than shared across the board.

What it's built for

Covers finesse presentations in clear, pressured water on the lightest models through to frog fishing and heavy-cover flipping on the heavier ones, so the right model matches almost any bass technique in a single series.

How it fishes

Light models are worked with neko rigs, Carolina rigs and mid-layer swimming baits on a slow retrieve; heavier models suit frogs and multi-technique power fishing with a firmer, more direct retrieve and hookset.

The setup it likes

Pair light spinning models with a 2000-2500 reel and 2-6 lb fluorocarbon; pair heavier casting models with a baitcasting reel and 12-16 lb fluorocarbon or braid. Step up line strength for the heaviest H and MH models in the line.
