The swimming action

The lightest swim jig in the range, built around a 4/0 hook for ultra-shallow water attack, designed to swim high in the water column without sinking away. A steady swimming presentation like this gives bass a moving target to track and commit to, rather than the stop-start rhythm of a bottom-hopping jig.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for ultra-shallow water, working over cover and flats too shallow for the heavier sizes in the range. Swim jigs earn their keep whenever bass are feeding actively and willing to chase, particularly around the edges of grass, wood and rock where a snag-resistant retrieve pays off.

How to work it

Fish with a slow, steady swimming retrieve just under the surface, keeping the rod tip high to hold the jig up in very shallow water. Keep the rod tip up and the retrieve smooth and continuous, feeling for the difference between the jig ticking cover and a fish loading up on the line.
