A steady swimming presentation like this gives bass a moving target to track and commit to, rather than the stop-start rhythm of a bottom-hopping jig.

When to throw it

Suits shallow structure and flats where a slower-sinking swim jig keeps the bait in the strike zone longer on the retrieve. Swim jigs earn their keep whenever bass are feeding actively and willing to chase, particularly around the edges of grass, wood and rock where a snag-resistant retrieve pays off.

How to work it
