Description

The Ecogear Jukusei Aqua Swim Shrimp 4 is a 96mm shrimp-style soft plastic lure from the JUKUSEI AQUA range, designed specifically for HITOTSU TENYA fishing.

After being attached to the tenya rig and let fall, the shrimp lure slides attractively through the water; its action draws the fish's attention and the flavour built into the material helps trigger a hook-up.

Information

The swimming action

The shrimp-shaped body slides attractively through the water as it falls once released on the tenya rig, with scent built into the material adding an extra trigger once a fish has closed in. The action is a controlled glide rather than an erratic dart, matching the steady sink of a natural tenya presentation.

When to throw it

Purpose-built for hitotsu tenya fishing for madai (red sea bream), typically over reef and broken bottom in depths where the tenya rig is worked from a drifting boat. Most effective when fish are feeding on shrimp and similar crustacean prey near the seabed.

How to work it

Let the tenya rig fall on a controlled, semi-slack line to the bottom, then work it back up in long sweeps before dropping again, keeping contact so the shrimp's slide-fall action stays visible to fish below. Keep the boat's drift speed in mind, since the retrieve needs to stay steady relative to the bottom rather than just steady relative to the rod tip.

The setup it likes

A dedicated tenya rod around M power, a 3000-4000 reel, 1-1.5 PE main line and a 3-5 fluorocarbon leader match the standard hitotsu tenya set-up this bait is designed for. Match line and leader class to the tairaba head weight recommended for the day's depth and current, and check knots regularly through a session of repeated drops.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?
