Description
The Balor 90 is a 90 mm, 13 g sinking pencil developed with Eclipse pro staff angler Yasuhisa Maeda, working the 0–40 cm zone just under the surface. Its warped body and rear-biased fixed weight boost rising performance and give it casting distance said to rival the Drift Pencil 90, while a shallow-runner-style head shape grabs water and telegraphs current strength back to the angler's hand.
At medium-to-fast retrieve it delivers a light, pattering swing with a loose tail beat that settles into a pure roll as you slow down, and raising the rod tip or speeding up lets it wake right on the surface — a combination suited to bachi, inako and haku patterns and to shallow, snag-prone water.
