A compact, dense sinking pencil that slides side to side in a tight slalom rather than a wide dog-walk. Its high specific gravity keeps it locked in the 0.2-1.0m zone, and the tail-slide motion reacts to current seams and turbulence, breaking into an irregular wobble that mimics an injured baitfish rather than a metronomic swimmer.

Built for skinny, structure-heavy water: shallow estuary flats, surf, rock marks and tidal creeks where a deeper-diving minnow would foul or spook fish. It earns its keep at first and last light and after dark when seabass push onto the shallows, and works in daylight over sand or rubble when fish hold near the surface film.

A straight, steady retrieve is the starting point and often enough on its own — let the tail-slide action do the work. Slow right down in cold water or slack tide, and add occasional twitches or a stop-start cadence on current seams to exaggerate the erratic roll and draw a reaction bite.

Pair with a 9-9.6ft seabass spinning rod rated around 7-28g, matched to a 2500-3000 size reel. PE 0.8-1.2 with a 16-20lb fluorocarbon leader gives castability for the 20g body while staying light enough not to kill the action in shallow water.
