Description

A large-capacity PE3-200m addition to the MAX DLC digital line-counter boat reel lineup, with a backlit large LCD panel, simple line-spooling input, straightforward two-button operation, and a user-replaceable CR2032 battery. Suited to bishi-aji, aomono (pelagic fish) jigging, and deep-water tairaba. A gunwale alarm warns when tackle nears the boat rail, Salt Shield ball bearings cut down on salt-crystal noise, and a backup ratchet backs up the one-way bearing for unexpected big fish.

A large-capacity digital line-counter reel with the same backlit LCD and gunwale alarm as the MAX DLC line, scaled up for heavier line and deeper water, with a backup ratchet standing in for the one-way bearing if an unexpectedly large fish runs hard.

What it's built for

Built for bishi-aji, aomono pelagic jigging and deep-water tairaba where PE3-200m capacity and a stronger drag are needed over the standard MAX DLC, particularly on deeper marks or when targeting larger pelagic species. Conditions, water clarity and the time of year all play a part in how well this style of fishing performs.

How it fishes

The standard gearing suits winching bait or jigs up from depth, while the H (high-speed) version at 6.2:1 picks up slack line faster on the retrieve when a fish runs toward the boat unexpectedly. Watching the line and rod tip closely through the retrieve helps detect even the lightest of bites before they are lost.

Spools and spares

Pair with a medium boat rod matched to the target species, spooled to PE3-200m and a fluorocarbon leader suited to the depth and current being fished. Always check knots and terminal connections before a session, particularly when stepping up to heavier drag settings.
