Abu Garcia RAYREX SP (レイレックススピニング) is a lightweight spinning reel for both freshwater and saltwater, carrying over the compact asymmetrical body and V-Rotor / V-Spool designs from the ZENON, REVO and ROXANI lines, built with a C6 carbon body and a DuraCarbon carbon handle.

It runs an 8+1 ball/roller bearing set with a carbon matrix drag and a 2-way drag system: reordering the drag washer stack switches the reel between "Light" and "Tough" settings. The Rocket Line Management System (spool lip, oscillation system and bail) is included for smooth, even line lay.

Available in 1000S, 2000SH, 2500SH, 3000SH and 4000SH; this listing carries the 2500SH, 3000SH and 4000SH sizes.

The drivetrain

A C6 carbon body keeps the compact, asymmetrical frame light while the V-Rotor and V-Spool design cuts rotational inertia so the rotor spins smoothly and stops sharply on the retrieve, giving a crisp, precise feel through a long day of repeated casts.

What it's built for

Suited to light-to-medium freshwater and saltwater casting where a light, well-balanced reel matters over a long day on the water, and the 2-way drag lets the same reel switch between a Light finesse setting and a Tough setting for bigger fish.

How it fishes

The 8+1 bearing set and carbon matrix drag give a smooth, consistent retrieve for working lures at a steady pace and picking up slack line quickly when a fish runs toward the rod rather than away from it. Small changes in cadence often make the difference between a follow and a committed strike from a cautious fish.

Spools and spares

Pair with a medium-power spinning rod, 4-12lb fluorocarbon or PE0.6-1.5 braid with a fluorocarbon leader, sizing the reel to the rod and the target species being fished for on a given day. Always check knots and terminal connections before a session, particularly when stepping up to heavier drag settings.
