Information

The drivetrain

A compact overhead body gives direct, low-inertia control over the drop and retrieve typical of a light boat reel, though the supplier data behind this listing does not confirm gearing or drag detail beyond its notably light overall weight for the class.

What it's built for

Sized and styled as a light boat reel for inshore bottom fishing and light jigging styles, in keeping with the wider Kurofune boat-reel range from Abu Garcia Japan, where compact size and low weight matter for long days at the rail.

How it fishes

Best fished with a controlled, steady retrieve typical of light boat reels, thumbing the spool gently on the drop to stay in direct contact with the terminal rig and feel the bottom or a fish's take without over-running the spool.

Spools and spares

Pair with a light boat rod and a PE line rating suited to a compact overhead reel of this weight class, choosing line strength to match the target species and typical depth being fished. A local tackle shop can advise on the best exact match for regional conditions and the target species in mind.

Straight answers

How is it priced?

We give you the cheapest available price, as we get it directly from the distributors. You pay what an angler in Japan pays, plus postage.

When does my order leave Japan?

Orders are packed in Japan and handed to Japan Post within 3 to 8 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment it ships.

How long does delivery take?

Australia and the US: 7 to 14 business days on Standard or Economy, 2 to 7 on Express EMS. Europe and the UK: 10 to 20 business days, 3 to 7 on EMS. Every option is priced at checkout before you pay.

Will I be charged import duty or tax?

Australia: no duty on orders under A$1,000 and GST is already in the price. US: orders under US$800 clear duty-free. EU and UK: VAT is collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery for standard orders.

Is it genuine stock?

Yes. Every item is genuine, sourced only through authorised distributors — never grey imports or marketplace resellers.
