Description

The Chibi PaniCra SR-SS is the slow-action version of Timon's 25mm mini crank, running at roughly the same 40cm depth as the standard SR but weighing 1.5g and built with a more subdued action suited to slower retrieves, making it easier to hold a steady depth band. It's rigged with a 16CP #8 hook and a #0 split ring.

Inheriting PaniCra's casting distance despite its small 25mm body, it's built for situations where fish are dense and don't need drawing in from far off. The compact silhouette and restrained wobble tempt trout to commit at close range, and its twin-hook set-up helps make the most of every bite.

Information

The swimming action

The Chibi PaniCra SR-SS runs at roughly the same 40 cm depth as the standard SR but with a more subdued action suited to slower retrieves, making it easier to hold a steady depth band in the small 25 mm body.

When to throw it

Built for the same dense, close-range trout situations as the rest of the Chibi PaniCra family, where a compact silhouette and restrained wobble tempt fish to commit without needing to be drawn from afar.

How to work it

Retrieve slowly and steadily to hold depth; the twin-hook set-up helps convert the short, careful bites typical of pressured fish working at close range.

The setup it likes

Pair with a light area-trout rod for 1–3 g lures, a 1000–2000 spinning reel and 2–3 lb fluorocarbon or nylon main line, fished direct.
