The swimming action

A shallow-diving floating minnow that gives a tight wobbling roll on a straight retrieve, running just under the surface with enough flash from its holographic finish to draw attention in stained water.

When to throw it

Suited to seabass fishing in shallow estuaries, harbour margins and river mouths where fish are feeding close to the surface, useful when a subsurface search bait is needed over a floating minnow.

How to work it

A straight, steady retrieve at a moderate pace is the standard approach; adding occasional twitches or a brief pause can trigger a following fish that has not committed.

The setup it likes

Suits a 7-9ft seabass rod in light to medium power, paired with a 2500-3000 size reel, PE 0.8-1.2 braid and a 12-16lb fluorocarbon leader. Back the drag off slightly for confident close-range takes around structure.
