Description

The Shimano 26 Ocea Jigger LD (26オシアジガーLD) is a lever-drag conventional reel built for near-shore and deep jigging aimed at big fish that punish a reel's drag – tuna and amberjack (kanpachi) chief among them. A new double-drag structure paired with Shimano's Infinity Drive cuts handle resistance at high drag settings by up to 30% versus a standard lever drag, and the reel is rated to 20kg of max drag with roughly 25% less heat fade than the Ocea Jigger 2000 under sustained load.

The body stays close in size to the Ocea Jigger 2000 despite the higher drag ceiling, uses a cold-forged 105mm handle and an enlarged handle knob, and comes in under 700g. A spool-lock mechanism secures the spool against unwanted rotation on a snag, and a bundled light-line drag cam swaps in for PE 1.5-2.5 fishing, softening the drag curve for lighter-line targets such as kinmedai and akoudai in deep water.
