The RC Cra-Pea is a compact system crank built by Rodio Craft in collaboration with Lucky Craft, holding a tight wobbling action on a straight retrieve. This Deep Cra-Pea LC MAX is a floating (F) build that dives deep on the retrieve and rises back toward the surface on the pause.

When to throw it

Suited to area and native trout fishing where fish are holding in the mid-to-lower water column, useful when a floating crank that lifts clear of snags on the pause is preferred over a sinking model.

How to work it

Cast it out and let it dive on a steady crank retrieve, using pauses to let the floating body rise and wobble before the next pull, which often draws a following trout to strike.

The setup it likes

Suits a UL to L area-trout crankbait rod, a 1000–2000 spinning reel, 2–4 lb fluorocarbon main line and a short fluorocarbon leader.
