When to throw it

Effective as a searching bait for bass across open water, along weed edges and around cover, particularly useful for covering water quickly to locate active fish.

How to work it

Rig on a jighead or swimbait hook and retrieve at a steady, moderate pace; slowing down or adding an occasional pause can trigger following fish.

The setup it likes

Pairs with a 6'6"–7' medium spinning or baitcasting rod, a 2500–3000 reel or low-profile baitcaster, 10–14lb fluorocarbon or braid, and an 8–12lb fluorocarbon leader.
