As a straight worm with no built-in action, the Swamp relies on the rig for its movement, giving a natural undulating fall and a subtle rolling glide on slow retrieves, helped by reins' proven shrimp-flavour-and-salt material that encourages fish to hold on.

When to throw it

A go-to bass bait for ponds, lakes and slow rivers year-round, especially useful in cooler water, heavy pressure or clear conditions where a natural, finesse presentation out-fishes reaction baits.

How to work it

Works on inch wacky, neko rig, downshot, Texas rig and no-sinker set-ups; let it fall on slack line and add only gentle twitches rather than a steady retrieve.

Pairs with a 6'6"–7' medium-light spinning or finesse baitcasting rod, a 2500 reel or compact baitcaster, 6–10lb fluorocarbon or braid main line, and a 5–8lb fluorocarbon leader.
