Description

ONE EIGHT MR (ワンエイトMR) is a 57mm, 11g floating crankbait from Pay Forward, released May 2019, diving to approximately 1.5m. Its round body and fan-shaped lip combine the directness of a round lip with the reaction-bite capability of a square lip, holding a stable pitch and range from slow retrieves through to fast "bottom knocking" cranking. It comes rigged with an ICHIKAWA Kamakiri 84X #6 treble hook. Target species: bass.

A tight, fast-wobbling round-bodied crankbait that digs down on a steady retrieve to its medium running depth and deflects cleanly off cover without hanging up on the way through.

When to throw it

Suited to covering water around docks, laydowns and rock where bass hold at a specific depth band, especially in warmer months when fish are active.

How to work it

Cast past cover and retrieve steadily to reach target depth, pausing or stalling briefly on contact with cover to trigger a reaction strike.

The setup it likes

A medium baitcasting rod with a moderate action, a 6.3:1 reel, and 10-14 lb fluorocarbon line for accurate short-range casting around cover.
