The Palms BitArts Miniature Gig MG-48S (ビットアーツミニチュアギグ) is a finesse-game-sized version of Palms' proven real-shape, minnow-style GIG jig. Its slim 48mm body carries an impressive 6.5g, and combined with a stable flight posture gives class-leading casting distance for its size.

A tight wobble-roll on slow retrieves, plus irregular action from active rod work, produces varied appeal for both slow night-game presentations and attractive day-game runs, expanding the water that salt finesse tackle can cover. Its scale pattern is modelled on real baitfish rather than a simple cross pattern, with an irregular, uneven light reflection for extra appeal, and its weight is positioned low front and rear for casting distance and swim balance. 48mm, 6.5g, sinking, Hook Size #14, offered in 8 colours.

The Miniature Gig is a finesse-sized, real-shape minnow jig with a slim, low-slung body that flies far for its size and gives a tight wobble-roll on slow retrieves with irregular flicker on active rod work.

When to throw it

Built for salt finesse game fishing at night or during the day, extending the water that light tackle can cover, from harbours and breakwaters to open flats.

How to work it

Fish it on a slow, steady retrieve for the tight wobble-roll, or add sharp rod twitches for irregular flash and action; its low-front-and-rear weighting keeps it stable through both.

The setup it likes

Suits a light rockfish or aji spinning rod around UL to L power with a 2000-2500 reel, 3-6 lb PE line and a 4-6 lb fluorocarbon leader.
