The ZAZA Hellgrammite 3in Sinking is Nikko Kasei's sink-only version of the ZAZA Hellgrammite, moulded without salt filling from a new sinking elastomer the maker calls N.S.M.-II (Nikko Sinking Material-II) — a considerably softer compound than the N.S.M. used in Nikko's Kurodai Ball, developed to sink reliably while keeping durability.

The softer material is designed to reduce fish spitting the hook on the strike, and the maker reports a higher hook-up rate with fewer lost fish in testing. Its density lets anglers work a horizontal fall on a no-sinker rig, and Nikko recommends choosing between this Sinking version and the standard Floating ZAZA Hellgrammite depending on conditions.

When does my order leave Japan?
