Description

SKUAD (スクアド) is Legit Design's saltwater boat and inshore rod series, split by technique. This listing stocks four solid-tip baitcasting models from two SKUAD technique lines.

From the Boat Ajing line: SKC-ST610UL/L-AJING Vertical Contact Special (2.08m, 96g, Ex.F action, PE#0.3-0.8, 115g vertical max) and SKC-ST68L/ML-AJING Giga Aji Special (2.03m, 95g, Ex.F action, PE#0.3-0.8, 150g vertical max), both built on an 85% carbon / 10% aramid / 5% glass blank with a sensitive solid tip for detecting bites from giant aji over 40cm in deep vertical-contact fishing.

From the Tachiuo line: SKC-ST73M190 (1.90m, 150g, F action) and SKC-ST82MH180 (1.80m, 152g, EX.F action), both 2-piece rods with a 400mm detachable grip, rated for 15-50g lures on PE#1-2 line on a 90% carbon / 5% aramid / 5% glass blank, usable for both tachiuo jigging and tenya presentations.

The blank

Both Ajing and Tachiuo SKC models use a sensitive solid carbon tip on an aramid/carbon/glass blank, built to register the lightest bites through 100m-plus of vertical line control while keeping enough backbone for a positive hookset.

What it's built for

Suited to boat fishing over deep structure: vertical jig-head ajing for giant aji past 40cm, and tachiuo jigging or tenya presentations over deep tachiuo grounds.

How it fishes

Work the ajing models with slow lifts and controlled drops to keep contact on the drop; work the tachiuo models with steady jigging strokes or a slow tenya crawl along the bottom.

The setup it likes

Match to a small baitcasting reel, PE0.3–0.8 line with a light fluorocarbon leader for ajing, or PE1–2 with a heavy fluorocarbon leader for tachiuo.
