Description

The Jackall Need Cicada measures 35mm and weighs approximately 3.7g, a floating topwater cicada imitation supplied two to a pack. A moulded eye is built into the body so anglers thread their own hook through it, a construction designed to resist tear-out on a full cast or during a fight.

Threading the hook through the eye lets the lure handle hard use — long casts, skipping under overhanging cover, and dead-sticking over likely holding water — while presenting a natural cicada silhouette on the surface. This listing covers three official Jackall colourways: Super Black, Nojiri White Moth and Kii Clear Lake Magic.

Information

The swimming action

A natural cicada silhouette sits flush on the surface; because the hook is threaded through the moulded eye by the angler, it handles hard casts, skipping and fighting fish without tearing out.

When to throw it

Suited to summer bass keyed on cicadas or other insects falling from overhanging trees, worked tight to bank cover and low branches.

How to work it

Skip it under cover on a low, sidearm cast and dead-stick it in likely holding water; occasional light twitches imitate a struggling insect.

The setup it likes

Pairs with a medium spinning or baitcast rod, 10-14 lb fluorocarbon or braid with a short fluorocarbon leader.
