Description

The Big Backer Soft Vib 21g is a sinking vibration lure from Jackall's Big Backer series, measuring 115mm and weighing 21g (16g head). Unlike a metal-bodied vibration bait, its soft worm-style body produces a full-length wobble on the retrieve, and the head accepts two interchangeable soft body shapes, Pintail and Shadtail, supplied together in the pack.

The new head structure lets anglers swap between body shapes and colours without removing the hooks, making it quick to adjust to changing field conditions, and spare bodies are sold separately so a damaged or worn body can be replaced without buying a new head.

Information

The swimming action

The soft worm-style body flexes along its full length on the retrieve, giving a continuous wobble rather than the single-point kick of a metal vibration bait, while the head keeps the lure tracking straight and stable through the cast and the drop.

When to throw it

Suited to seabass fishing where a sinking vibration bait is needed to search mid-water and bottom zones quickly, including river mouths, harbours and structure-heavy stretches where a fast-sinking search bait covers ground efficiently between casts.

How to work it

Cast and count down to the target depth, then work it on a straight retrieve or slow lift-and-fall; swap between the supplied Pintail and Shadtail bodies without removing the hooks to change the vibration and profile on the water.

The setup it likes

A medium-power seabass spinning rod around 8-9ft, a 2500-3000 size reel, 8-12lb braid and a 20-25lb fluorocarbon leader suit this bait's casting weight, matching the general-purpose tackle most anglers already carry for estuary and harbour seabass sessions.
