The Yoichi 99 Ballista is Ima's heavyweight sinking pencil version of the Yoichi 99, built at 99mm and 36g for a slalom action worked on a #3 hook with a #4 split ring, running the 30–80cm zone.

Its added weight over the standard model pushes casting distance further and lets it reach a higher range than typical heavyweight sinking pencils, making it a seabass option for river mouths, rivers, surf, rocky shore and offshore marks.

The Ballista is ima's heavyweight take on the Yoichi 99, carrying the same wide slalom kick on a #3 hook and #4 ring but with extra mass that pushes it deeper and further.

When to throw it

Built for river mouths, rivers, surf, rocky shore and offshore marks where distance matters, working the 30-80cm band for seabass in windy or open-water conditions.

How to work it

Cast at range and work it on a steady retrieve; the added weight keeps the pencil stable at speed, and the heavier profile still swings well through a brief pause.
