Penny Suck Mokka is the shallow-running model in HAL's Penny Suck minnow family, born to target big fish and rated by HAL as their strongest lure for the konoshiro (gizzard shad) pattern. It is neither a popper nor a darter — it is a genuine wobble-roll action minnow.
Mokka is tuned to work from just under the surface down to around 50cm, rising quickly and coping well with dead-slow retrieves, which suits it well to flats and river seabass fishing. It has accounted for numerous lunker-class fish, particularly on the 'ochi-ayu' (migrating sweetfish) pattern.
