Description

The Jack Hammer SB (Stealth Blade) is Evergreen's clear-blade chatterbait, co-developed by Seizo Shimizu and Bret Hite for high-pressure, clear-water conditions. It uses a lightweight polycarbonate blade instead of stainless steel, tuned to a tighter, higher-pitch vibration, paired with a finer hand-tied silicone rubber skirt for a lower-impact silhouette than the original Jack Hammer.

This 3/8oz size is built for a low centre of gravity flat head, a Decoy-made fluorine-coated hook designed one size lighter for use with lighter tackle, and a double wire keeper for secure trailer holding. It suits anglers targeting bass in calm, clear water or heavily pressured fisheries where a subtler blade presence draws more bites.

Information

The swimming action

A polycarbonate blade, 2.0mm thick through the centre but tapering to a 0.3mm edge, gives the Jack Hammer SB a tighter, higher-pitched vibration than the stainless-blade original, paired with a finer, sparser hand-tied skirt for less air resistance and easier depth control.

When to throw it

Built for calm, clear water or heavily pressured fisheries, this lighter 3/8oz size uses a hook designed one size lighter for lighter tackle, suiting subtler presentations to wary bass.

How to work it

Wind it steadily and expect a subtler presence than the standard Jack Hammer; the fine-wire, fluorine-coated hook and double wire keeper hold a trailer securely through the retrieve.

The setup it likes

A medium casting rod around 6.8-7ft with a 6.3:1 baitcasting reel and 10-12lb fluorocarbon suits this lighter, subtler 3/8oz chatterbait, with enough backbone to set the hook through a soft-plastic trailer and heavy skirt.
