The SALTY® BAIT™ WAVE is a 60g tairaba/inchiku hybrid jig from DUEL for red seabream (madai), rockfish and pelagic fish.

It combines an inchiku-style multi-faceted metallic head with a tairaba-style biting appeal: a joint-action body and flowing tail skirt produce a wobbling action on a standard retrieve, and the jig also supports bottom-bumping and short-pitch jigging techniques. It carries a UV-luminescent real eye and tandem #13 assist hooks.

The Salty Bait Wave is a tai-rubber/inchiku hybrid jig blending the food-appeal feel of a tairaba head with the flash appeal of a metal jig. Its multi-faceted head throws metal-jig-like sparkle with squid-like realism and wobbles on a straight retrieve, while the trailing necktie skirt sways well even at slow speed.

When to throw it

Fished for madai (red seabream), rockfish and aomono (pelagic species) wherever a straight-retrieve tai-jig is preferred over a traditional tairaba drop-and-wind, or to add flash appeal to a slow-fall presentation. Bright, sparkling conditions favour the flash-heavy colourways, while low light or deeper water suits the glow finishes in the range.

How to work it

Drop to the bottom and work it on a straight retrieve to show the wobble and flash, or fish it tairaba-style with bottom bumping or short-pitch jerks for a slower, food-appeal presentation. Vary the retrieve pace between drifts, since madai activity and preferred fall speed can change through a session.
