The VIROLA 4 inch sizes the VIROLA up for extra casting distance and fish-attracting power, and is a soft swimbait built around a V-tail that trembles in fine vibration to stimulate a bass's instinct to strike, with a body balance that produces a realistic rolling fall mimicking an injured baitfish. Hollow body construction keeps its posture stable subsurface and also allows surface techniques.

Suited to early-spring mid-layer swimming, the dead-fish pattern favoured on wakasagi (pond smelt) lakes, and twitchy pikupiku presentations for high-pressure bass feeding on oxygen-starved, floating wakasagi near the surface. It suits both clear-water finesse sessions and stained-water searching, since the profile reads naturally at a range of retrieve speeds.

Swim it steadily through mid-water for the I-shape retrieve, or twitch it in short soft jerks to imitate a struggling, oxygen-starved baitfish rolling as it falls. Watch the line on the fall as well as during the retrieve, since many bites come as the bait is settling rather than moving.

Suits a 6'8"-7'2" ML to M spinning or baitcast rod, a 2500-3000 reel, and 8-12 lb fluorocarbon main line. Choose a rod with enough backbone to set the hook at range but a forgiving tip to avoid pulling hooks on a short strike.
